Many prescription and over-the counter medications disrupt vitamin and mineral absorption, use and storage in the body. Often, patients are prescribed additional medications to alleviate symptoms caused by the depletion of vital nutrients. If you take medications, it's important that you know and understand how they may be affecting your body and your overall health. Increased consumption of essential nutrients may be needed to counteract the nutritional depletion caused by drugs, especially when they are used on a regular basis.
