May Revise Budget Unfairly Targets Working Californians

Back

(Sacramento) -- Assembly Democrats, responding to the Governor's revised budget proposal for 2008-09, are calling for a more balanced, thoughtful approach to balancing our state's books. Assemblymember Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) says the Governor's revised budget includes cuts that unfairly hurt struggling California families, is bad for our economy, lays off teachers, cuts public transit funding and includes solutions that may be no more than risky schemes. Assemblymember de León also says the Governor's revised budget is not a real fix for the state's financial crisis.
