Rule Britannia Variations - cornet

Back

Variations on Rule Britannia by John Hartmann played on the cornet. I normally play the trumpet so this is a bit like a pianist playing the organ - it works, but its not the same as someone who plays the cornet as a main instrument. If you listen to the last variation my attack is far too hard, this is indicative of a trumpet playing technique, you don't need to hit the cornet as hard and its not easy to adjust between the two sometimes. Its not a left handed cornet, that was a mistake in the recording! Its a wedgwood cornet and a Monette B1-5FL mouthpiece.
